Do you want the peace that mindfulness brings without all the sitting still thinking about nothing?
Traditional meditation is a beautiful practice that can improve your focus, lower your stress, and give you clarity—if you can stick to it. But for a lot of us,
- it’s hard to sit still
- it’s hard to notice that we’ve been daydreaming for several minutes
- it’s hard to tell how much thinking is too much thinking. “Ooh, I’m doing it! Wait, does thinking that mean I’m actually not doing it?”
- and it can be hard to understand the difference between meditation and avoidance, escape, or spiritual bypassing.
Fortunately, there are many roads to mindfulness. I find that doing parts work is one of them. Parts work is essentially a form of meditation, but it feels more active than the single-point meditation we’re usually taught as beginners, so it’s easier for many people to grasp onto.
Parts work-based mindfulness can help you get to know yourself better and soothe yourself in stressful moments. So in Finding Mindfulness, I teach clients a method for sorting out their thoughts and feelings in times of tension and confusion. This method typically brings relaxation and clarity.
Nothing about this method conflicts with traditional meditation, of course. You can practice focusing on your breath or other styles of meditation whenever you want, and you may find that they get easier for you after Finding Mindfulness.
The Finding Mindfulness Package
I designed this package with busy people in mind, so everything about it is short and to the point!
Five Individual Coaching Sessions
These sessions are done over video call and last only 30 minutes so they’re easy to fit into your schedule. In these sessions, I
- teach you my method,
- help you practice it,
- and help you plan how to integrate it into your life
Since the sessions are one-on-one, I can guide you through the process to make sure you’re getting the desired effect, and answer any questions you have.
Short Mindfulness Exercises
There’s no need for you to remember any homework. A few times between each of your sessions, I’ll send you a text message. Each text will prompt you to do a short mindfulness exercise. No 20-minute meditations here—I know how hard it is to drop everything to do that. These exercises take a minute or less. I send these texts at varied times to train your mind to get more used to stopping and noticing your experience.
Value
The standard price for this package is $65 a week for five weeks.
If for any reason the package isn’t working out for you, you can quit at any time and get a refund for unused sessions. I do my part to humanize our approach to time by not charging any fees for rescheduling or missing appointments. Life doesn’t give you 48 hours notice when it sends a crisis your way!
Here’s what a Finding Mindfulness client has to say about this package:
When I signed up for Finding Mindfulness, I was struggling with feeling bombarded with constant thoughts and self-critique. I knew that mindfulness practice had the potential to help reduce these thoughts, but was having a hard time accessing a mindfulness practice that worked for me (e.g. many failed attempts at meditation).
At least some of the time now, I am able to take a pause when I feel bombarded with thoughts, and go through the exercise of unblending the various parts that are contributing to the cacophony. I have been able to notice a thought, e.g. “someone’s driving in a way that pisses me off” – and say to myself “well that’s just a thought, and it will pass.” This has helped me identify and show compassion to the parts in need of that, and has helped me see glimmers of my “self” among the parts.
It was really awesome to work with Presley! She has clearly done extensive work in understanding how to make mindfulness practice accessible using IFS and other tools, and she has a gentle and thoughtful approach that helped me learn and even internalize the practice. I would encourage anyone with an interest in tools for self reflection, mindfulness, or parts work to work with Presley. She’s a fantastic and highly capable coach!
